I am running ol2007 and Win7. Like most people my InBox is always too large. Outlook's autoarchiving feature is OK but is rather tedious to actually use. What I want is a real archiving feature where I can archive an individual item or a folder with a single click and the following happens:
  • the item or folder is copied to the archive set
  • the original item or folder is deleted from InBox BUT
    • meta data is left behind so the item looks like it is still there (color is changed and a single line is drawn through the text)
    • item properties are augmented such that if you click on the shadow item later, the actual item is fetched from the archive set.

This archives the item(s) AND frees up space AND makes it easy to retrieve the item later

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks
