Ligature words auto corrected differently

Hi,

We have received a document from client and the document contains ligature words - for example: "flexibility" and we saved the document in Word 2007 - the ligature words has been auto corrected to "flin". Anyone overcame this issue earlier and it would be great if anyone provide the exact root cause of this issue.
