Accessing an Excel worksheet range in Windows 64 bit and Office 2016 64 bit

I've had a lot of help in this forum about connecting my Word VBA to an Excel workbook using Windows 7 and Office 2013, both in 32 bit, and am I'm very grateful for the tips and guidance from a large number of experts.

However, my client is now upgrading to Windows 10 and Office 2016 both 64-bit. I now need to connect to, and read, an Excel workbook range from Word VBA macros.

What are the connection methods I can use now with these updated systems and what might be the best method of achieving this, please?

Any particular sites which might support the information provided?

    Thanks for any help

Is there a particular reason why the client is adopting the 64 bit version of Office which is not recommended for most users and sets up a number of challenges?
If the client was to install the 32 bit version of Office 2016 your existing process probably wouldn't need to be changed.
