speed up link s

I have a spread sheet that links to 3 others files, in each link it runs a vlookup.

is there antway to speed this up as it takes over 5 minutes to open the file althogh the file itself is about 4mb.

Try removing the "Save external link values" option (Tools | Options | Calculation | Save external link values)
