    Excel to Access Import issues

    Hi Folks

    Sorry, but i'm totally new to access, please be patient

    So I've got this Excel table with co-workers' data that I'd like to import to my access co-workers' table. Nothing fancy.

    The problem is that access will just ignore a whole column with a warning...there's an entry and an exit date for each worker. Both columns are formated exactly the same in excel (as date), and in access as date. However, while the entry dates are imported as expected, the exit dates are not??? The only difference is that the exit dates are mostly empty.

    When I change the format to number it will import both columns as expected, however as numbers

    Any ideas?

    What is the first Row of data in the Excel workbook, if it is blank add a date to it and try the import again, if it works OK delete the date in that record.
    What method are you using to do the import?
    If I rememer correctly the import wizard allows you to adjust the Data type during the import routine.

    Thank you,

    It didnt work with the first option, ie. putting a value in the first line;

    but specifying the data type in the import wizard worked
