Thread: Word Ribbon with 2 .dotm files

Question Word Ribbon with 2 .dotm files

    Hi everyone,

My name is Andra and I am new on this form. Nice to meet you all

I have two .dotm files and I am trying to use them both but not in the same time without installing and uninstalling them each time. I was thinking to do something like: when one of the tab from the ribbon is used, the other one to be disabled (or the same for buttons from each tab). Each dotm file creates its own tab on the ribbon. What is really important is not to be possible to use them both in the same time.

Can some one please help me with this? Do you have some other suggestions?

    Thanks a lot!

Sorry. I deleted my post there. Thanks!

The problem is still unsolved. Can someone help me with this?

Since you will have two dotm addins enabled, how is Word supposed to know which addin you want to use at any given time?
I think you should create a third addin where you choose which addin you want to use.

Put the two add-ins in a different (trusted) folder from the Word startup folder and use https://www.gmayor.com/load_word_addins.htm to select them as required.
