    Way to go Ken...
You know you're really in trouble when the light at the end of the tunnel turns out to be the headlight of a train hurtling towards you

The major part of getting the right answer lies in asking the right question...

Made your code more readable, use VBA tags (this automatically inserts [vba] at the start of your code, and [/vba ] at the end of your code) | Help those helping you by marking your thread solved when it is.

Are you calling me wordy, Dave?

Thanks, guys. It feels a little weird to be on the same web page with many on that list, and there are some people whose names I think should have been there loooong before mine.

At any rate, it's Zack's turn to be featured now. Eyes on him.

    Just finished reading yours, Ken.

Did read Zack's some time ago. Kudo's gentlemen.

Ah yes, early 2003, I remember it well.

Sorry for the late reply on this.

I remember it well too, Nate. I actually still use some of the macros that you helped me build back then.

I actually wanted to "officially" thank four people who got me started in to this stuff. There's been many more, as I've learned from everyone who helped me, and whom I've helped as well, but these four were pivotal parts in my route to here. They are (roughly in order that I met them...)

Nate Oliver. Nate helped me with Excel issues at UtterAccess.com, and was instrumental in exposing what code could do for me.

Smitty (Pennysaver). I met Smitty at MrExcel, after actually following one of Nate's posts there. It was Smitty's friendliness, helpfulness and ultimately advice that led me to purchase my copy of J-Walk's Power Programming with VBA book. Without that book, I highly doubt that I would be here now.

Zack Baresse. While I'd seen Zack in a post or two at MrExcel, I really met him here after following a link in Smitty's signature about VBA certification. Through a somewhat controversial post, Zack somehow decided that I should become a moderator here. As I take my work seriously, that led to me reading/watching more posts, which actually grew my addiction a bit more.

Anne Troy. I first encountered Anne back at UtterAccess, but didn't really get to know her until I came to VBAX. Since that time, Anne has become one of my greatest friends, and has given me some great opportunites, including my first few consulting jobs.

Again, these are the four people who went above and beyond for me, believed in me, and truly made me want to do more and learn more with VBA, Excel and Office in general. It's because of them that I play my little part in forums and on the web these days.

Now there are many, many more who have contributed to my knowledge. I have a great many friends from a variety of forums who have helped me expand my knowledge. Some are Cell Masters, some are MS MVP's, some are website owners, some are prolific forum posters, and some have simply asked a question or two that I have been able to help out with. The important thing is all have contributed.

Okay, that's enough about me. I've been thinking about this for a month, but did want to place the credit back where it is due on this.

    Cheers,
Ken Puls, CMA - Microsoft MVP (Excel)
