    Mail Merge and Date Format

    Hi All,

Don't use mail merge very much so this maybe very easy, apologies.

I have a range in a spreadsheet that is my database for my mailmerge. This range includes dates formatted in excel to 23-Jun-06. However when I run the mail merge it is shown as either the date number, eg 36545 or shown as 06/23/2006.

How do I format the mail merge so I can show the results as 23-Jun-06

    Please help

    Thanks

Take a look at Switches in Word help.

There what you use to format mail merge fields.

    \@ "d-MMMM-yyyy" - ie. 1-Jan-1986
    \@ "d MMMM yyyy" - ie 1 Jan 1986

    just some quick examples.
    Someday I'll understand everything...
    Even then...I'll still pretend I'm a beginner.
