In PowerPoint, is it ok to have multiple users point to the same file location for an add-in? Or is it better for them to copy it to their own directory so it doesn't give errors when multiple people use it at the same time?
... or does it even matter?

An AddIn is effectively opened (loaded) as a read-only file so AFAIK it won't make any difference.
