    Track changes

    Dear Friends,

After a document has been reviewed and changed by several reviewers using the track changes facility of word, I want to send it to a third receipient.
What do I have to do in order to make track changes not visible to him.
(even if he enables the show track changes mechanism)

    a) Send them an uneditted copy.
    b) Accept or decline each change made with the track changes feature.

Actually, it looks like you could turn off viewing of tracked changes and then protect the document for FORMS.

But that's never *real* protection, you know...
Anyone can unprotect that type of protection by inserting the file into another using Insert-File.

If you really can't let them see the changes, forget it.
If you just want to hide them as a courtesy, protect the doc for forms.

At my law firm we use the Metadata Assistant which is a free download from Payne Consulting. This ensures that all extraneous information will be extracted from the document.

You can download it here - it's a great little proggie:

    Joanne,
thanks for your reply. Metadata Assistant seems to be the solution to my problem. However, it is not free as you mentioned. The demo that is downloadable does not allow me to test its cleaning capabilities.

    Metadata

I'm so sorry.... when we originally downloaded it (a few years ago), it was a free product. My apologies for the confusion.
