I did a dumb thing

In my excitement over finally getting my licensed Office 2007 Pro Plus, I clicked Upgrade [and probably should have clicked Customize]. So now 2007 is installed but 2003 is gone...

What is a proper recommended fix

1. Re-install 2003, 2007 won't be affected

2. Uninstall 2007, install 2003, re-install 2007 [and does this affect my 2007 activation???

3. leave things as they are, you are SOL.

Uh oh Stan, that sounds tricky

I don't know the answer but would be interested in the solution too. Currently at home I'm running 2003 on my laptop and 2007 on my desktop because I was afraid of nasty things happening with 2 versions on the same PC.

I would have thought that you have to uninstall 2007 then install 2003 and then 2007 again, as the 2007 might mal-function if you try and install 2003 over the parts that 2007 is using as the upgrade. Safer at least.

But why not get hold of Virtual PC and run them in different VMs?

Don't you only get 2 licenses for each 2007 installation? I would be afraid of uninstalling the program unless it updates MS about you uninstalling it so it can take out the use of your license I would think.

You should be ok. I agree with jazznaura and XLD with the approach. I would definitely be connected to the internet while I do this if I were you...just to be sure.
