I just noticed there was also an "oz" one as well - are you not on that one ? and the Microsoft newsgroup? I am only pulling your chain - no odds to me. But I am just curious as to who's with who etc - how these groups work, a sort of sociological overview. I had assumed when I came somewhere new there'd be all new people but I see quite a few familiar names...
As you are a consultant - I guess this is all good PR/ intro's as well as edifying.
i recognize people here also from MrExcel and UtterAccess... those are the only other sites that i frequent regularly...
Life is like a jar of jalepenos... What you do with it today might burn your butt tomorrow....
I do some Excel consultancy work, yes. Just on the side really; it's on a take-it-as-it-comes basis pretty much.
Well, let's see, the breakdown.
MrExcel.com:
Owned by Bill Jelen
Frequented by a lot of users here as well (including myself).
Bill has authored many books, including 'Guerilla Data Analysis', 'MrExcel on Excel', 'VBA and Macros for Microsoft Excel', and another one due out this April or June.
TheOfficeExperts.com:
Also owned by Bill Jelen,
he bought it from Anne Troy.*
OzGrid.com:
Owned by David Hawley.
Dave authored '100 Excel Hacks' by O'Reily Publishing recently.
(Hopefully, Dave will be our next live chat guest. )
VBAExpress.com:
Founded by Dreamboat/Scott.
Run by DRJ and myself (with a great support team!)
Offering VBA Training and Certification and Consultancy work.
Fairly new, operating since May 2003.
Extensive Knowledge Base.
Plus many, many other forums. I do frequent the NG via ExcelTip.com as I don't have a good newsreader (attempting Mozilla Thunderbird, working through some server issues though). Some other websites frequented can be found in the resources page ( www.vbaexpress.com/resources.htm ). An older thread discussed where everyone came from; check it out here: http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42 .
