I'm using the "Fill Effects" feature for the background color. I have it Gradiating from one color to the next. The Shading Style is Horizontal and Top of page: Color 1; Bottom of page: Color 2. The problem is that the background decides to be "tiled" instead of "stretched"...
How can I make it be so that the effect is stretched and not tiled??
Thanks,

Hi Joseph, :yes
A bit hard to imagine how your background looks now.
Could you attach a sample document that also includes a ALT+PRINTSCREEN from your background settings.
Thnx.

Hi Joseph, :yes
I'm not sure if you can get there with those settings.
What you could do is make a picture in a picture program of the exact effect you're looking for and add that as picture to your background. (or as watermark)
that effect would be stretched instead of tiled.

Hi Malcom, :yes
That was the method of using a picture I described. You can use pretty much everything in the Header footer area and stretch that as your background.
I wonder how Joseph is doing.

Hi Joost,
I was concerned about the file size when using a picture, but actually it's not much bigger, 33KB v 24KB

Hi Malcom, :yes
Yes file size can be a issue depending on the file.
I usually edit all my pictures in a picture program to compress them. (Words builtin feature fails a lot)
Especially in big documents one should always pay attention to picture objects.

Hi Joseph,
Is this what you're after?hey Malcom,
Awesome! Yes, this is just what I was looking for!
Sorry I haven't responded for a while, I'm taking a summer course at my college and I've been doing LOADS of work for that class (especially with the final on wednesday). So I haven't been on the site too much answering anybody's questions to problems (just enough time to ask my own, really) because I have been really busy :bug:
But thanks again this is exactly what I was looking for :thumb
Mark it solved.
