Application.ScreenUpdating=False is used to stop screen flickering when the macro is running.
Debug.Assert is used debug the code. when the logical test value is false it will pause the code.
so they are different things.
try these codes:
Sub test1() Debug.Assert Application.ScreenUpdating MsgBox Application.ScreenUpdating End Sub Sub test2() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Debug.Assert (Application.ScreenUpdating) MsgBox Application.ScreenUpdating End Sub
